January at a glance

Some January happenings...starting the year off with some board games. Enjoyed a bit of snow, cocoa by the fire, beer making and cat/dog acclimating...been a fun and frustrating time.

We continued on our mission to get Sophie to be nice to poor lil' Bandit Kitty. It's been 2 months and we are so frustrated with the dog, the cat would do fine but Sophie just cannot accept the furry little guy in her house. She has this crazy look in her eye, she shakes, and really wants to get close TOO CLOSE to the kitten...ugh.

Girls Mall Day

Aunt Sissy and I decided to take Tay to the mall to spend some of her Christmas money on goodies. Blake prefers to save his money, while Taylor wants to get it gone and buy up some stuff! She wanted a full-on mall experience, which requires stops at the arcade, Claires, Justice, the little rides, and of course, the gumball machines! It was a fun, full day! I'm pretty sure she left completely!

Tay made "the cut"

Taylor has always been my little girl with the long blonde hair. I love it, she however, couldn't care less...she doesn't really care how she looks at all. She is mostly about how things "feel", and it does NOT feel good to brush this hair. It's all the way down to her tush! Poor sweetie cries almost everyday. Great Clips has messed her hair up really bad in the past, so we found a new stylist and got her hair cut. We cut about 10 inches off and saved it. Her hair is pretty much shoulder length and she loves it. She also loves that it is way easier to brush...she's my sweetheart regardless of her hair

Blake turns 12!!!

The years just keep flying by...Blake is 12 YEARS OLD!! He started middle school this year, and has really grown up a ton.  We love all of his teachers and they all keep reminding us how much they love having Blake in their class. They say he is kind and friendly, always smiling and they all especially like his sense of humor...I worry about that one a! He is an awesome kid, he has been working really hard, getting pretty much straight A's! We are blessed with this 12 year old for sure.

He decided that he would rather get extra money than host a party this year. Honestly, they are alot of work for us AND for him...he has a couple best friends that do not get along and it makes it hard to plan things. He woke up to his favorite honey bun breakfast, Tay helped with the candles and making the house especially decorated for him! We did a family party, inviting Aunt Sissy, Uncle Danny, and Nick. We ordered pizza and had a huge XBOX cake that we decorated! He got Halo 5 xbox game, a remote controller charger and $50 from Aunt Sissy! We ended the night by playing LCR with real money, I think Nick ended up the big winner :)

We also let him have his other best bud, Nico, over for a sleepover the following weekend. They stayed up all night playing video games. Happy boys.
