The Mote Aquarium

Since it was a rainy day, we decided to visit The Mote Aquarium. It's toward the southern end of the keys, so we could explore along the way! We absolutely LOVED getting to see the stingrays, jellyfish, seahorses, along with creatures that we have never seen before! We got to touch starfish, horseshoe crabs, and spiny sea urchins. Taylor loved this part the very most! We also got to visit the sea turtles (which followed the kids around), manatee, sharks, ending with a dolphin.

when you touch the sea urchin, the spines close
around your finger!! YIKES!
Hi little fella!

Even though the roads were flooded, we couldn't help but make a pit stop by Coquina Beach on the way back.  It is beautiful, rain or shine and has been added to our list of places to come back to, to do some fishing.

NEVER seen a "No Wake" sign on land before!

We headed for home, and even though our grilling plans were washed out, we still fixed a birthday dinner. Fillet mignon, baked potatoes, Caesar salad with cannoli's for dessert. Happy b-day, Sweetie!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY #1 DAD!
